FLASHBACK FRIDAY: 80s FASHION

There were a few different major trends in the 80s. Bright bold colors and tracksuits, but also black, fishnet leggings & torn clothes. The committed punks dressed in black with crazy hairstyles and always tried setting themselves apart from the others. They dressed in ragged, torn clothes with ‘in-your-face’ outfits and provocative slogans. Teens who dressed in grunge were considered the ultimate rebels of their generation. These teens definitely proved their disdain in conformity by their ripped clothes, careless makeup and sometimes scary fashion, haha. Their fashion was all about going against the norm. The most common things worn in the ‘punk era’ is leather, fishnet, vinyl, mesh and shredded denim (obviously). The popular shoe choices were military style combat boots, motorcycle boots and high top Chucks. I’ve noticed sometimes the teens would wear bright colored shoes, really trying to clash their outfit and look as hideous as they could, LOL. Flannel shirts were a staple piece in every teens closet. ‘Riot girls’ often wore flower dresses paired with combat boots (so cute, I think!). 80s hair bands are my favorite to rock out to anytime of the day. I’ve always had a huge appreciate for the 80s! Are you ready for my next Flashback Friday?! Have a good weekend! XO, Cass
